Once upon a time, there was a girl — her name was Xarya. But you can call her Xar-Xar. Or simply, Xar.
Growing up, Xar was always told, “You have a beautiful handwriting, you’ll make a damn good writer one day!”
(And yes, just like you, Xar was also aware that that statement made no sense.)
However, it was true, Xar did like to write a lot.
She had been Writing from ever since she could remember. And not because it was a hobby or because she was passionate about it.
No, Xar’s reasons were completely different.
You see, she was the kind of person who was able to express better through written words.
(Spoken words mostly just came out as incoherent mumbles.)
So, Writing was more like a natural instinct than a hobby, a form of expression that she naturally gravitated to and felt comfortable with.
Sometimes, it was also an escape.
Some other times, a medium to shamelessly write down forbidden fantasies.
(Yes, that means exactly what you think it does.)
The relationship between Xar and Writing started out as a friendship, but eventually, she fell in love with it.
As it happens in most relationships, at one point in time, Xar got disenchanted with Writing (for reasons that even a potato could’ve foreseen).
And, ended up shooting down their romance.
As it also happens in most relationships, at one point in time, Xar began to miss the good ol’ days she had spent with Writing.
The late night coffee-fueled dates, the under-the-bench typing during lectures, the steamy fanfic-ing… ugh!
How could she have been so blind?! How could she have broken-up with Writing??
She decided she wanted to get back together.
So she thought long and hard (read: procrastinated) about what to do.
Finally, she had her solution!
As a way to rekindle the romance between her and Writing, Xar tried something interesting:
She decided to build a newsletter.
This would be their fresh start.
A new beginning to their over-a-decade-old relationship.
And just like that, Xar-Xar and Writing were set to begin a new chapter in their life, with the birth of their first-born newsletter.
The end. [Or should I say beginning? ;)]
